FAQ
-
Do you only work remotely?
No — We are based in Los Angeles and happy to work in person if that is better suited for your project.
If you are looking for other local session musicians beyond our instrumentation, we are available to recommend and sub-contract.
-
What materials do you need from me?
Ideally, a full mix, a mix minus, strings isolated, timestamped MIDI, and charts. We also accept built out sessions in Logic Pro, and can provide music prep if charts have not been orchestrated.
-
I'm looking for more musicians who can remote record, do you know any?
Absolutely - we have an extensive and vetted list of colleagues covering the gamut of woodwinds, harp, guitar and more that we are happy to recommend or sub-contract for you.
-
What's your rate?
Generally, we operate under an hourly rate system which encompasses all the roles we play when remote recording - studio/session set up, music prep (if needed), tracking, engineering and editing. A larger flat sum may be requested in instances of multi use : i.e. TV main titles or sound kits.
If your project falls under the umbrella of an AFM contract, we are happy to assist in filing the appropriate forms and following union scales accordingly. -
Can you write your own arrangments?
Yes! We are able to string arrange for your project if you don’t have parts written.
Writing falls under a different scope of work than recording pre-written material and an additional rate will be charge for this work on a case by case basis.
-
Do you do demos?
We will on occasion work on spec demos at a reduced rate, with an agreement to have our full rate be honored if the work gets accepted, and inclusion in the project if it expands past its original form.
